Natalia Rodriguez

Natalia Rodriguez received her BFA from St. Edward’s University (Austin, TX) and currently lives and works in San Antonio. Rodriguez combines illustration and screen printing to create a new set of imagery informed by Chicano culture and graphic art. As a first generation Mexican American, growing up in between cultures created a need to identify and played a heavy hand in the ability to apply meaning to a set of unified icons existing outside of the confusion of language. Her small-scale screen printed works serve as tangible reminders that communication and voice extend beyond words. Rodriguez has contributed works to Chingo Zine (Austin, TX) editions V and VI, Mapache Bear Press (Dallas, TX), and La Liga Zine (New York, NY , Los Angeles, CA, San Antonio, TX) and has exhibited at the Mexic-Arte Museum (Austin, TX) and the Oak Cliff Cultural Center (Dallas, TX)
